MES Application Engineer (Manufacturing & Traceability Systems)

About the role

Bosch Digital, the global IT organization of Bosch, develops and operates Industry 4.0 and Production IT systems that improve transparency, efficiency and quality across Bosch plants. This full-time position in Budapest involves implementing and operating MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and traceability solutions, and collaborating with production and manufacturing teams on digitalization initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and operate MES and traceability solutions across Bosch plants
• Install, configure and maintain servers, databases and container-based environments
• Support and enhance infrastructure platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher and the Elastic Stack
• Design and implement technical solutions for production traceability requirements
• Work closely with production and manufacturing teams on digitalization projects
• Develop and maintain basic automation and scripting solutions (PowerShell, Python)
• Provide technical support and user training on Production IT and traceability topics
• Contribute to project coordination and end-to-end technical implementation

Required profile

• Degree in IT, Software Engineering or a related technical field
• Fluent English for daily collaboration in an international environment
• Experience in Production IT or distributed systems (servers, databases)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication and coordination skills, customer-oriented mindset

Required skills

• Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• System administration (2+ years is an advantage)
• Database technologies (MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB) and observability/logging platforms (Elastic Stack) are advantages
• Basic scripting in PowerShell or Python, PLC experience are advantages
