Senior Accountant (US GAAP Reporting)

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is hiring a Senior Accountant for its Global Business Services function. The role is based in Budapest, Hungary and is hybrid. You will support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, prepare US GAAP financial reporting and coordinate with external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close in line with US GAAP
• Prepare and submit US GAAP financial reporting according to corporate requirements and deadlines
• Coordinate annual audit activities with external auditors and support statutory reporting
• Prepare reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP
• Manage local tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT and other indirect tax filings where applicable
• Support internal audits and SOX compliance controls, and provide documentation during tax audits and government inspections
• Partner with Shared Service Center teams on Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes and country-specific payments such as taxes, salaries and wages
• Collaborate with Accounting Supervisors, Country Controllers and cross-functional stakeholders on process improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
• 3 to 8 years of relevant accounting experience in an international environment
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and attention to detail
• Understanding of internal controls, compliance and business ethics

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP, statutory reporting and tax regulations
• Experience with financial closing, account reconciliations and audit support
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CIMA or CMA is a plus
