Senior Meeting Planner

About the role

Amex GBT is looking for a Senior Meeting Planner in Budapest. The role covers the full end-to-end management of events, from the meeting qualification call and initial venue proposal to post-project financial reconciliation, in line with American Express Meeting & Events standards, procedures and policies. It is a hybrid position: two days a week from home and three days a week from the Budapest office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage national and/or international projects end to end, including running large, complex meetings independently
• Negotiate and execute complex supplier contracts
• Keep accurate and timely data
• Maximise revenue per event and understand its contribution to revenue and P&L
• Manage large, complex budgets, maintain working versions, process supplier and client invoices, and manage cash flow and payment schedules
• Coordinate registration websites end to end if required, and provide onsite event assistance if required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in tourism or a related economic field
• Fluent Hungarian and English (C1 level); additional languages are a benefit
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in end-to-end corporate event management, in an agency or in-house setting
• Customer care excellence
• Driving licence, category B (preferred but not mandatory)

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with CRM systems, including data entry, eRFP, reporting and budgeting
