Senior Accounting and Reporting Analyst

About the role

bp's new Supply, Trading & Shipping team in Budapest is looking for a Senior Accounting and Reporting Analyst. The role ensures that operations are managed, controlled and developed in a process-designed way to deliver value to the business, covering internal and external accounting and reporting in line with IFRS and BP Group accounting policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the T&S business finance to deliver end-to-end financial accounting and reporting, recording and reporting accurately and on time
• Support operations management across teams, businesses and geographies, especially on accounting, reporting and control
• Drive process simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement with operations and optimisation teams
• Take part in Global Process Advisory Group forums to share best practice and evaluate options for continuous improvement
• Standardise process controls and key performance metrics, and support adherence to standards and policies
• Build relationships with business partners and support system transformations and audits
• Analyse and explain reports and accounts to support informed decisions, and coordinate analysis and explanation of reports and accounts
• Support delivery in line with service level agreements, KPIs, targets and budgets, and give technical feedback on projects, upgrades and modifications
• Work with regional GBS SMEs and ARC managers to drive best practice globally

Required profile

• Finance and accounting professional or graduate with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Recognised accounting qualification
• Proven track record in financial accounting
• Experience in process re-engineering, improvement and transformation, and in managing teams (finance lead, team leader or audit manager)
• Relevant BP business experience and knowledge; oil and energy industry experience is a big plus
• Proficiency in English

Required skills

• Knowledge of SAP financial modules, functionality and reporting tools
• Process transformation and innovation and organisational change management
